TODAY: International Novena to St Gianna starts

Hi!

Sorry about this being so last minute. I wanted to post this yesterday, but I lost my fligth to return to Mexico (forgot my passport in the rental car) and ended up flying most of the day and night to get home with no access to my blog.

In order to start our Spanish blog and online support group activities the authors of "The infertility Companion for Catholics" book and I we will be praying a novena to St Gianna starting today and ending on her feast day: April 28th.

Our online Spanish group will also launch on that day and be under St Gianna´s care and under Our Lady of Guadalupe protection.

We can also include your intentions in the Novena and gladly pray for you also

Please send me your intentions in the comments section or to my email and I will post each day the prayer and do a summary of the intentions.

All are welcome: for adoption,. for a 1st baby, for more children, for clarity on next steps, etc.

My TTC story

28th of April 07: Get married at the tender age of 36 to a saint of a man. (Later learn that this is the Feast day of St. Gianna Molla). Learn NFP prior to wedding.

June to Dec 07: Return for glorious honeymoon to a time of great trials. Just some of them:Eliminar

Death of grandfather
Death of MIL right in front of us from cancer. DH family a mess.
Remodeling of our appartment goes bad due to stays in hospitals. End up living with grieving FIL for 8 months. Not a good idea when you have been married only a few months.
DH losses job.
FIL ends up in hospital with undiagnosed diabetes. Could have died.
My parents suffer a horrible incident of violence. Months to recover from shock.

DH ends up twice in the hospital

In midst of depression start officially TTC in Dec.

June 08: After 6 months and no pregnancy consult with Gyn. Do some basic testing Do not like him when he says that we are too eager. Switch to great Gyn. He is 78! But very up to date. Love him!! He decides to be very aggresive and look for answers ASAP. Tons of tests and a plan of action.

Read up all that the Church has to say regarding this subject. There is tons we can do! Let´s get to work!

July to August 08: Testing. Lap finds endo stage 2 /3, adhered ovary to uterus, a couple of polyps. B/W and edometrial biopsy finds low progesterone. DH diagnosed with double varicocele which is causing slow sperm and bad morphology.

Start Acupuncture and begin my journey on complementary therapies. Start the purchase of many, many books

Sept 08: DH has surgery. Succesful! Months later all parameters greatly increased. Also taking Pro.xeed and many vitamins prescribed by Dear Wife.

October 08: Using progesterone starting day 14 to end of cycle. Learn CrMS charting from books and being taught by a local non practitioner. Start reading online about Napro. Buried in books.

Nov 08 to April 09: Take progesterone as directed as well as many vitamins. Religiously attend acupuncture and continue with alternative therapies that I mix on my own. Charts seem normal, right? Slowly start gaining weight and this Martha becomes very, very tired. Barely get out of bed in the morning. I am not depressed, but something is off! Reach breaking point emotionally and physically. My dark night of the soul.

May 09: Start to live online via Catholic IF blogs. Fall in love with Napro, but cannot find local resources. Feel utterly alone and lost. I am surrounded by IVF in my office. Both unsuccessful and successful.

June 09: Decide to FIGHT with all my might. Something in my body is OFF. Want the opinion from PPVI. My local gyn, an extremely prestigious doctor, tells me Dr. H knows more in this respect than him and he will help with everything. Have not seen such humility in any other doctor.

July 09: Contact Catholic If Yahoo group and ask what testing normally PPVI asks for. Do all B/W and U/S on my own. Labs think I am crazy as well U/S doctor.

August-Sept 09: Spend nights translating my studies. Send everything into PPVI. Due to testimonies on the blogs and yahoo group encouragement decide to become a FertilityCare Practitioner. Its not possible that this does not exist in my country.

October 09: Travel to Omaha for training. Dr. H gives me his diagnosis on a napkin after the last day of training. Extremely happy! Recommends another lap. My insurance does not cover the USA. Extremely worried

Late luteal phase defect: HCG +3, +5,+7 and +9 , Adrenal fatigue: Hydrocort . Mucus enhancement: Vitamin B6/Fertile CM. Vitamins for DH (same as I had prescribed him YEAH!!!)

Dec 09: Big changes in cycle as luteal phase stabilizes. Feel much more energetic and start so lose some weight. Drop B6 due to horrible hand pain. Start Mucinex. Endo diet. Great P+7 progesterone results each month and cycles look normal now. No pregnancies.

Jan 10: Start researching adoption. Put on waiting list. A baby is offered to us by an agency. Something is off and we decide to say no. Heartbroken. Do Mayan abdominal massage trying not to have operation and endo diet. BFN

Feb 10: Lap in PPVI. Minor endo regrowth found. all else OK. Dr H says the doctor in Mexico did a good job. =) Thyroid disfunction discussed. Start testing.

March 10: Gift to self a Fertility Retreat with Ran-dine Lewis from The IF cure book the next week after my operation. Start Nia and breathing excercises, some herbs UGHH!!! and try to have a positive outlook. Tons of vitamins and supplements. Kidney yang deficiency and Spleen chi depleted.

Restart accupuncture with real Chinese doctor. Uses needles, Kuasha and foot massage. It hurts, but feels great afterward!

Start of T3 as I am hypothiroid. It was not in my head!

April 10: great hormones and cycles. what is going on? No endo, no infections...

May 10: Start Naltrexone. I am again feeling tired.

June 10: Do Scio, do very, very strict anti-inflammatory diet, lose 5 pounds, weekly accupuncture. Take tons of medicines. Start chlorophil and high doses of folic acid and vit B´s and take bee pollen. My own deviced plan from tons of books. Accepted towards adoption. We are extremely happy.

July 10: BFP. Had never seen real one! the only cycle where I did not keep track of the2 ww. Notice until P+17 AF has not come. Go to the Basilica of Guadalupe to give thanks to our miracle baby at 39.

August 10: Miscarry at 9.2 w a little baby that we baptize as Miguel. He is now our little angel named after St, Michael.

Sept 10: Complications from D&C since the placenta had established roots with the uterus. 4 days in the hospital with contractions and heavy clotts. Develop anemia. Had to stay in the pregnancy ward hearing the families celebrate. No pain I had ever endured could compare to this.

December 10: Begin bleeding profusely. I drench a chair ib blood. Taken to the hospital as an emergency and misdiagnosed by the U/S doctor as another miscarriage . Another D/C. Doctor suspects a polyp, but cannot determine until pathologist sends report which takes 3 weeks due to vacations, . Spend Christmas thinking I had lost another baby. Cannot move from the pain.

Next months develop Tail end brown bleeding caused probably by the D&Cs. Take tons of antibiotics and develop candida. .

May 31st 11: given permission to adopt after months of courses and paperwork. The first ray of light after months of intense spiritual pain.

August 15th day of the Assumption: get the call that we are parents of an amazing 3 month old little boy

August 16th: Meet our son. We are beyond blessed
